The other day I shared how +Texan in Tokyo told us about Hi Native... Well now I'm not sure who I shared before since I have found +Sharla in Japan telling us about it as well on her channel +Sharmander... Here is her video version letting us know about Hi Native...
Well I hope you enjoyed hearing about it from someone other than me and +Texan in Tokyo... This was just a quick post because I have got over a months worth of posts to set up for when I move... I'm headed to do that now!
As always... Thanx for reading and watching what I share!
So today I thought I would again share videos... I have been on a +Texan in Tokyo kick for a while so I'm sorry if you are getting sick of seeing videos from them... I will try to share other ones next month though. But for now... Here are two videos that caught my eye...
They are just so fun to watch! Here is the second one!
I think I have shared the second one before... But I really do think it is good to have apps that help you to learn... the first time I shared this one I hadn't tried it yet but now I do use it.... I have to admit it is pretty cool for someone like me who doesn't have the ability to practice very easily. If you want practice partners you might really think of checking it out.
I know there are a lot of other apps out there but there aren't that many I have found fun or easy to use... I have three I keep on my iPhone and a few more I use on my iPad. All-in-all I think you need to find the tools that work best for you so that you can achieve your goals!
And with that thought in mind I am going to end this post. I am trying to set up the posts for the time I will have no internet due to the move!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I share!
It has been forever since I have shared a music video of any kind with you all... So I'm taking us back in time with this one... I'm sure a lot of you already know who these guys are so I'm not going to introduce them till after the first song... And that song is here.....
Yup... If you know this amazing song then you know these guys are N.K.O.T.B! For those who don't know that name maybe you will recognize it this way... New Kids on the Block!
This was from years ago though... Here is one that is much more recent but still an oldie!
They still have amazing voices!!!
Nothing more needs to be said... I hope I brought back some great memories for those who already knew about this group and started some cool new memories for those who didn't!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I've shared!
Today we are going to have two different types of lessons... The first is one with +tomoko tomoko and the second is a guide by +Rachel & Jun! It's my hope that you learn something about Japan as well as picking up some of the words Tomoko teaches us! Here is the first one!
eiga 映画 →movie
yuushoku 夕食 →dinner
yuuenchi 遊園地→ amusement park
watashi no uchi 私のウチ(家)→my(female) house
boku no uchi 僕のウチ(家)→my(male) house
Even though you may only pick up one or two words each time you watch her videos I feel it is very important to listen to the language when you're learning Japanese. I could be wrong but I do know it can't hurt!
Now here is the second video... It may not be a serious one but I'm sure that some of the things they tell you are true... Like about how to treat a tatami mat or the cleaning things Japanese people do in the bathroom.
Mainly enjoy a laugh while learning random things! Here it is!
Well that's it for this post... Hope you had fun watching these random videos!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I share!
Lets kick this food fit off with a share of +Sharla in Japan's 2016 snack box share...
That looks yummy!!! Next for food shares we have...
That was cool... and the shout out to another YouTube personality was so cool of her... I think i'm going to check them out... Maybe we will have a new member to our YouTube family! So now into the next video... This one is more of a mail opening but she does tell us about all the snacks she gets... Let's check it out! Here it is.....
And there you have it... This is all I'm going to share in this video food haul type post... Maybe you learned about a new snack you want to try? I hope so... I know I will be seeing if some of these can be shipped to the USA so I can try them... I can't wait!
As always... Thanx for reading and watching what I share!
I'm always sharing others video's and yesterday I said how the videos from Texan in Tokyo reminded me of myself and how I'm just starting out... So today is a really quick post sharing my very first hello... Hope you enjoy it!
Yeah... I know... Not the best but hay... I just started out and am trying every day to get better at recording and editing... Life will also get in the way too... I'm packing to move in a few months and it can get realllllly stressful so video taping and editing isn't the highest thing on my list.
Hope you can understand and also that you enjoy what you see!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I post!
It's hard to believe that one of our YouTube family stopped making videos about three months ago... Although they aren't putting out new movies I feel like we have just scratched the tip of the iceburg when looking at the videos they did put out... So what better way to remember them than to look at some of their older ones? That's right... Texan in Tokyo is our Throwback Thursday!
So here is video one!
Yup... It's a quicky... But a good one! Next up is video two!
This one was a bit longer.... This was all still while she was learning what she was doing... Much like I am now I guess. Next up is video three!
That one was the longest of the three... They are all really short but sweet videos that show diffirent things about Japan and let us really start to get to know Grace and Ryosuke! I hope over the past three months they have been happy and healthy as they settle into their lives while trying to start their family! If you guys see this I hope you remember you are always a member of my YouTube family here! Miss ya!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I've shared with you!
So I haven't really been writing new posts for a while... Music... Musing... Thoughts... Info... I'm going to write them all again... This is one to start us off again with an original never read post from me... Yeah it is possible that they may be similar.. Like the fact that this is a music post... So without further waiting... Here is a music video I found that I love...
This is the video Inori by Sabastiano Serafini and I love how it sounds and how simple the video itself seems... Seems because I am willing to bet it took forever to put it together!
Here is another one for you... This one is English though...
It is sooooo cool to watch this one too... Was it all a dream? That one was When the Night kills the Day (music video, Yu Phoenix) and I love how different it is from the previous one!
Now for a change-up... This guy rocks at acapella! here are a few of his covers! Hope you enjoy them!
Seee.... Such originality... If I didn't know better I would say it was impossible that he was making all the music with his own voice! Well this is it for this little tidbit... Hope you like it all! Did I spark a bit of interest for you in a new musician? If you want to share a new music piece with us all leave it in the comments and I'll check it out... Maybe they will be in another post!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I post!
I just wanted to share another lesson in Japanese with you all! As you all know... We are listening to +tomoko tomoko as she teaches us things in Japanese.. Here is the next video for you! In it we will see her explain the Japanese money she shows us.... It is kind of hard to follow but cool at the same time! I don't know about you but I would feel sooooo rich holding a bill that has 10000 on it!
Lets check it out!
OK... I'm sure you see what I meant now... She did her best to explain this to us... I think it would make sense to someone who grew up with this money always around them though. Like for me even when I was first learning money I could easily understand that one hundred pennies made a dollar.. It's not to hard to understand this system either... You just need to listen to her explanation a few times before it becomes easy to understand.
But lets face it... There are a LOT more coins in the Japanese money system than in the American one... Here is an image for you to see what I mean...
Those are the Japanese coins... Here are the American ones...
Now these are the common ones minus the penny... I couldn't find a picture with a penny too... Also... I know there is the Half dollar and silver dollar as well as a gold dollar that are also coins we had but you almost never see them. In fact, I had seen a friend spend one and she was accused of using fake money until someone verified it!
The fact that there are only five common coins in America makes it so easy to figure out... Although I'm sure once you get used to the other countries coins it would seem just as easy. I've just never had the opportunity to learn and use another money system!
I don't know about you but I think it would be a great adventure!
I'm going to end this post on this great note!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I shared!
I was watching Sharla from +Sharla in Japan and she did this video on ice cream and it looks sooooooo yummy I had to share!!! What better way to make a debut on my blog!
If you don't want to click the link to see it I am posting it here...
So... You might be wondering why I decided to re-share this post... As you know I am doing a clean-up of my site for AdSence and this post was a realllllly short one that I'm sure they would consider just click bait.... At the time though I just wanted to tell people about the YouTube family I was building! Sharla is a part of that so I though just posting her video was a great idea!
While it isn't a bad idea I forgot the most important part and that is that if I'm not talking about the video in the post it isn't good... So I am re-sharing this video because I really do LOVE the post but this time I am going to be giving you my thoughts on it too... So here they are!
First of all I have to say the way she looks at the ice cream when she first shows it off was like OMG and just so Sharla... When I think about how her first videos were she has come soooo far.... Her personality on camera is shining and she has a way of really making you want to eat the things she is trying... Maybe it is that she can't hide how much she likes it?
Ya that picture sums it up if you ask me.... And to have such a thing happen toward the end of the video.... And poor Shine! But then if I tell you what I'm talking about you won't watch it to find out... And that just won't do! hehe... So I'm going to say you should listen to pooh and Enjoy the video!
I really do want to go try this ice cream though... It looks like it is a really tasty treat!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I share!
Have a yummy day!
As you can see there are a lot of words this week... Because of that I am thinking I shouldn't add any... However I think I should talk about the video a bit!
In this video there are CC that are in Japanese mixed in with the English... I don't know if some of the sentences were written in Japanese instead of English on purpose or not but I kind of got a bit lost on some of it... I think if you watch it enough you can figure it out though... It probably is parts of the other lessons mixed in and I just stink at memorizing stuff!
It's still a good video for people learning who are better at remembering stuff than I am... I've been trying to learn Japanese for years now and I haven't gotten very far. Although it could be that I am not really bad at remembering but that I have never taken formal classes... Everything I know is all self taught... When I think about it this way I don't think it is so bad.
I have mentioned before that I have a pen-pal over in Japan... I feel bad because she has been trying so hard to help me to learn and I feel like because I heave never had a full conversation with her in Japanese she thinks I am better at speaking than I really am... I can pronounce things wonderfully but trying to string it all together and remember what words to use to express myself just doesn't work!
However... I will NOT give up! Some day her and I will be able to sit and chat on the phone for a bit like the old friends we are and I will actually understand her and be understood! This is my goal!
So for me this video poses both a welcome and unwelcome challenge! I have to try to figure out what Tomoko is saying when the CC is not telling me... I find it fun though! And the fact that I can pause the video and look up what I need to so that I understand without interrupting the flow of the conversation takes a HUGE weight off of me!
So I just have to say this...
THANK YOU SO MUCH TOMOKO!!!
If you did the videos any other way I don't think I would have found the fun I have!
And on this not I am going to end this post!
As always... Thanx for watching and reading what I have shared!
This week I thought it would be fun if we viewed random videos from our YouTube family's past!
I'm not going to do this in any specific order or anything so please pay attention to the name above the video because their channel name will be there!
Yup we are going there... POKEMON!!!!! Of course this is an older video so it's nothing compared to Pokemon Go videos she has done more recently... But I thought it would be fun to show one from before all this hype started! Not that I don't love Pokemon Go because I do!
It's a really quick video while +Sharla in Japan opens a pokeball...Love what she got! Hope you do too!!!
Here is some helpful advise in a video done with two of our friends... In this video Sharla joins Rachel from +Rachel & Jun to tell us about things they wish they knew BEFORE moving to Japan!
Such a good video too!!! I'm glad I watched it since someday I want to visit Japan!
I would never have thought this was true!!! Japanese things not in Japan?!?!?
Yup it happens!
+Texan in Tokyo talk us through a few things they found that are stereo-typically Japanese but are not actually found in Japan! I never would have believed it if it hadn't come from someone who lives there! After all... Who would think something Japanese wouldn't be in Japan!
That's it... I'm not going to add anymore into this video because I don't want to seem like I'm just posting the videos... To be honest I wanted it to sound like a commercial add... How did I do? Did I sell you on checking out their channels? Don't get me wrong... All the videos really are amazing... And I really did enjoy watching all of them... I just wanted to see if I could write a post like that!
I know what some people think when I post videos... And I'm ok with that... As long as someone enjoys seeing them then I'm happy! I mean come on... Sharla has a great smile and wonderful personality... Rachel and Jun are charismatic too... Jade has a way of catching you that is all her own... and lets not forget how Ryosuke makes us laugh and Grace just has a way of making it seem like she is talking right to you... If anything I watch these videos to figure out what I need to improve... Because I want to be like them... Charismatic and fun to watch!
So let's end the post on this great note!
This has been a Random Video Blog just for you! Hope you enjoyed it!!!
As always... Thanx for reading and watching the videos!!!
Have you ever wondered what it's like when you date someone from another country? Are there things they do that are specific to a relationship that are not the same as you would do where you are from? For example.... How to you even express that you love them? Or how will they let you know?
Here is our Random Video where Rachel and Jun talk to us about saying I Love You in Japan!!!
I chose this Video because I was thinking about how hard it can be now-a-days to figure out when to say "I Love You"... And I'm not even talking about just with the person you are dating... There are times when I have felt like I shouldn't say this to my mom or my sisters... Don't get me wrong... I love them dearly... But the situation that is happening right at the time can make it harder to say... And in the case of the partner you are with... Well... Saying it opens you up to the possibility of a world of hurt if you are unsure of how they feel about you!
It's not that we don't say I love you here in America but it can be hard figuring out when it's appropriate to say it no matter who you are saying it to!
Thinking this made me think of a conversation I had a while back with my pen-pal. I asked her if there was a difference in how I would tell my daughter in Japanese "I love you" compared to how I'd tell my husband the same thing. This started up a conversation on how Japanese people don't say this nearly as often as we do here! I guess it would probably be embarrassing to a Japanese person if they didn't understand where you came from and how your culture is when it comes to this phrase. I really haven't been able to get this out of my head either.
So long story short... When I saw this video it brought back sooo many good memories of this conversation that I just HAD to share the video with you all! I hope you like it!
I will keep looking for little diamonds like this that can start conversations... And here is the conversation I'm hoping this one will start...
How do people express live between partners or family members where you're from?
I'd really love to know! I love learning about this kind of thing because when we understand things like this we understand people better! It stops misunderstandings!
For me that is all part of being a flower of hope... I want to understand and relate to you and share my life with you... Then maybe my successes will give someone who reads or watches my content some glimmer of hope! I really just think we need to all do our part to understand each other!
OK... I don't mean to get all preachy or mushy or what ever you wanna call it... So I think I will end the post here before I start going on a tangent!
As always... Thanx for reading and watching what I've shared!!!
